private ohio cabin needed to rent

Question:

If anyone can help with this, I’d appreciate it. I’m looking for a cabin to rent (in Ohio) for a Friday night – Sunday morning stay. It would be the 2nd or 3rd weekend in June. Basically, we’re 8 adult Boy Scout leaders who’d like to get a cabin for a weekend to play cards, drink beer and have a campfire where we could sit around and not have to mind our manners too much. We are well behaved (since we’re Scout leaders) and will leave the cabin in better shape than we find it. It would be nice if the cabin was fairly private, near a lake and there should also be a public golf course nearby. We’re nice guys but bunches of teenage boys can drive you crazy from time to time. We need some time away!! Thanks for the help. Chuck Himmelspach

Have you considered any of the Ohio State Parks?  Many have cabins and golf course on site.  Of the top of my head, I can think of Salt Fork, Deer Creek and Maumee Bay. Brian

Have just returned from a weekend hiking at the hocking Hills area near Columbus. It was great. There are a lot of little B&B’s, cabins, etc., in the area, but I would greatly advise that if you send for info you make sure you see a picture of the place first. The place we stayed at needed a lot of work and I don’t think I’d stay there again. It was also dirty. But fortunately the weather was great and we spent very little time there, instead hiking around. It’s a super area to visit. Kim
