Ryder Cup: Judged, found….

Question:

: Are you at war, Chris? According to my President, we are, though no official declaration has been requested yet.

The Taliban has declared war against us.   So we don’t need indictable evidence to go in and get the enemy – them being at war against us is sufficient.

Response:

I appreciate your point of view.  Part of me even agrees with you. But then I think, "We’re at war.  WAR.  This isn’t a response to a terrorist act.  This is a response to an outbreak of war."  And that changes everything. Let’s hope we don’t get too far involved in this war without figuring out who it is that we’re fighting.

I think that there is a pretty obvious answer to that question. The war is against the Radical Militant Islamic movement that has pretty much hi-jacked the Islamic religion for it’s own political use. The steps to take in how to battle this is at the least two-fold. First you need to make an example out of Bin Laden and the Afghan govt. that supports him. (look for this in the next 60 days or less) Next (and most important) you need to start a years long psychological campaign to discredit the Radical Islamic Fundamentalists and promote the more moderate true Islamic faith.  (this of course is the hard part) me

I hope not.  But I’m not ruling it out. : As soon as America responds to this latest attack, the bar : will be raised.  It’s not going to go away in a few months. I think you’re right about this.  My hope, though, is that we’ll understand the nature and the scope of the war in a few months. We don’t even have that information right now.  We have almost no information right now, except for the approximate count of the dead and injured.  In the absence of information, I always prefer the safer courses of action. cb

True enough.  For us, we now just think of our airliners being hijacked and flown into our tallest office buildings.  And our sons and daughters being shipped halfway around the world, many of whom possibly to their deaths. It’s not pleasant no matter how you view it. cb

Bullshit!

No, Mark, I don’t speak for everyone.  Just as someone that isn’t out on the lunatic fringes.   You’re awfully brave, sitting here in Dallas,  and one of the brilliant ones that is smarter than all of those who have decisions to make. Incidentally, why did you have to identify yourself to Colin as having a white ass?  Does that matter?   ___,     o        |       /        .
