Interested in Ping ISI irons read this!

Question:

Amen to that.  I overheard at Art Wilson Golf Shop in Santa Clara that they sold all their sets (I think he said they had 15) in less than ONE business day.

As I recall, Jeff, you were "the first on your block" with the Bubble Shaft…. I look forward to seeing you at Pasatiempo with those new ISI nickel irons (is that an oxymoron, like "metal woods"?)  ;-) Cheers! John Tonetti

Response:

I would be very surprised if those were the Nickle version of the ISIs, but you never know.

I think the $900 price mentioned in a previous post is possible.  FWIW, I’m in the Air Force and just saw the nickel Ping ISI’s (steel shaft) at the base’s pro shop for $899.00.  I wasn’t looking to buy, so I don’t know what the going rate is elsewhere around town, but based on a couple posts here, this seems like a good price.  Think the copper ISI’s (ISI-K?) were on the order of $750. Mike M. Just when I thought it was safe to go outside again, we get hit with 8" today.

Response:

[stuff deleted] Where in West Virginia are you? If Washington, DC isn’t a killer drive, I saw the ISIs for about $900 in a golf discount store there a few weeks ago.

Response:

The fact is that plenty of people, in their right mind or otherwise, are buying the clubs. Ping is not even close to being able to keep up with orders at this time.

Yesterday I was at my local pro shop daydreaming/window shopping and I asked when the new ISI would be in?  The owner told me that they had them on order and he preceeded to tell me that he was going to sell the nickel version for $1500.00 for 3-PW steel.

Retail price for the Nickle ISI club is $150 per club. Nobody in their right mind pays full retail for anything. The clubs are new, the market demand is *VERY* stong, the supply is short. That translates into the economic reality that the clubs will be expensive. If you want the clubs and don’t want to pay a fortune have some patience. I expect the price will drop, but the Nickle headed clubs will continue to be significantly more expensive than their Stainless Steel cousins. The fact is that plenty of people, in their right mind or otherwise, are buying the clubs. Ping is not even close to being able to keep up with orders at this time.
