Question:
My opinions on this subject are a little controversial because if they are true, then a lot of people are wasting a lot of money on expensive new golf clubs — so beware! Forged blades, and almost any Hogan club, are good clubs for anybody. They will make you a better golfer. You will get more feedback from every swing, making every swing a learning experience. Cavity back clubs simply disguise bad hits. I feel the same way about sensicore shafts. They make you think you hit a better shot then you actually did. I just got done with about a week long experiment with the Titleist DCI 981s. I played pretty good with them at first, but my swing went to hell fast! They just felt dead. Every shot felt about the same. If you want to play golf for a long time and continually improve, get a blade. If you’re more concerned about looking like an avid golfer, play cavity backs. Finally, one caveat: clubs that fit your swing are the best clubs for you, regardless of what the back of the club looks like. The only way to know that they fit your swing is to play with them. The static measurements of a club are only about 20% of the proper fit. Looks alone probably amount to just as much as the length or lie. It’s easy to measure, cut or extend and get the right length and lie. It’s not so easy to find a club that feels good in your hands and gives you a feeling of confidence when you look at it. Would you recomend me any model of Hogan clubs manufacturer ?…..My handicap is 22 and soon will retire, which means I will play 5 days a week !!! Thank you. ENRIQUE
