Blade Putter

Question:

Have a 30’s vintage Aristo 10, the loft helps on the crappy greens around here and does a fair "Texas Wedge," and a 50’s(?) vintage Walter Hagan that isn’t too bad, get lucky and sink a long one with one of these beauties and everyone thinks you are a Zen Master. (esp. when all you play with is a 5-iron and a putter) Sparkey

Response:

Try Ram Wizard 610 comes with and without insert. Insert version may be harder to find as Teardrop agreed to a f restriction on sale of insert putters yiou may find under Lazer name – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I was hoping that anyone could recommend a good blade putter for me to purchase. I have a Crenshaw/Mickelson type putting stroke (well I try anyway). The Wilson 8802 is on the top of my list but are there any others that are worth a look at?

I use a McGregor/Jack Nicklaus signature putter that is really wonderful.  It has a very nice leather grip and has great balance. Since someone else already pointed out that a putter with a flanged back is not a true blade putter, I will say that it is as close as you can come these days :)  The only problem that I have with the putter is glare.  I guess that I could cover it up with some matt black, but it just is not a problem often enough to worry about :) David

Response:

Arnold Palmer Outlet Store has the Arnold Palmer original putter for $69.95. Includes a gift box and a putter cover.

Response:

The 8802 isn’t a blade putter, is it?  Seems to me I remember a flange on the back end…

Still considered a blade by most, since it doesn’t have the heel-toe weighting like the typical Ping. — Barry Smith
