RSG events retraction

Question:

I had made a comment earlier about non rsg people in RSG events. This comment was derived from my wrestling with the issue of inviting some of the guys I golf with to play in RSG. There are some individuals around here with a lot more personality than me (like ANYONE!!) who might have added a lot to the experience for the people who attended. Two things jumped out, however. Most of the guys I know are A LOT better golfers than I am, and one of them undoubtedly would have won, if for no other reason than that they know the courses much better. The other is that they would have gotten along a lot better with Joe Gatti and Robert Mitchell than with anyone else there, and that would have taken a lot away from the RSG group getting to know each other, which is a main thing for me anyways, and the fact is getting together with strangers is awkward at the best of times, but getting to know "new" people is one of the greatest of joys in life, at least for me. So I guess my point that I have no objection to other people bringing people to RSG events, in fact, it adds quite a lot, but if the host includes too many locals, or really any, it becomes more of a local event, which is fine on it’s face, but for me, too much is lost. Of course, we have no local RSGers around here anyways! I have no objection to local type RSG events that are held around the world, they are great!… but if that’s all we had, then RSG events are just another way to meet local golfers. Where else but in RSG could a golf tournament held in Mississippi have all the major competitions won by Canadians! (That has to be some sort of record!). Now if Mike Weir could win The Masters in April! Rob Service is the rent we pay for being

So, if they make a single post to RSG, they are then invited?  I think that this is a bit extreme.  The more the merrier, I would think. <snipped Rob
