Spinal Tilt / Hitting Fat

Question:

How important is the spinal tilt (away from the target) during setup? Also, how much tilt should there be? In my normal/typical setup, it looks like I have enough tilt, but when I hit the ball I think I come over the top a little and pull the ball left (I’m right handed).  If I exaggerate the tilt and make solid contact, I can draw the ball a lot more often than if I don’t exaggerate the tilt.  However, with the exaggerated tilt, it seems I leave my weight on the back leg and hit the ball fat more often too. IMO, I should continue the exaggerated tilt, but how can I get that weight going towards the target more consistently? Thanks in advance.

I think you are asking one of the mysteries of the golf swing.  Shift your weight to the front foot but at impact be sure your head is still well behind the ball.    There always seems to be something we don’t get told. Puttster
