My 3 Days at Perfect Impact Golf School.

Question:

I wonder if anyone else really liked "How to Feel a Real Good Golf Swing" by Davis Love Jr and Bob Toski.

Response:

Mediocre at best.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I ordered George’s book/video a few months ago. We exchanged maybe two notes in the process of ordering and it was clear that I was an occasional RSG poster. There was nothing in his emails that could possibly be construed as a request to post comments or reviews of PI on RSG. I find PI and SLAP to be (in general) very complementary books given the problems that I am working on. PI is unique in my mind because it focuses so much more on the feel of a good swing than anything else that I have read (and I certainly have not read everything). The exchanges in this thread are the best demonstration that I can imagine as to why I have not posted my own experiences with PI. But for the record I have not found PI to be a magic cure-all, however I have found it useful/beneficial, it met my expectations, and if someone offered to buy it back from me at the price I paid I would chose to keep the materials.

I agree that the Perfect Impact material is unique and an invaluable addition to any library on the golf swing.  My ball-striking took a quantum leap forward as I read the book and after watching the 45 min video, and as you say much of it was due to the feel stuff – exertions etc, as well as the setup and positional stuff.   There is other stuff that helps with feel, such as The Golfing Machine – any unique book worth adding to any good collection alongside Perfect Impact/Five minues to….video,  …and other btw also worth having …Search for the Perfect Swing, John Jacobs videos, The L:AWS of the Golf Swing, Rick Smith’s book (and videos?), Swing Like a Pro (SLAP), Davepelz Short Game Bible, Faldo’s Winning Formula & his videos….. I can understand why you hesitate to post a "review" given the atmosphere generated by a handful of idiots.  However, I that would make me *more* inclined to post – but maybe that’s a weakness of mine (or backbone) which has left me even more open to smear and attack by the bad apples. All the best… — F. If *anyone* at all has any suggestions or contributions to make to the GOLF SWING TECHNIQUE FAQ, then please either post to  the  relevant  thread  in  the  newsgroup  rec.sport.golf.
