Question:
I have been practicing my golf swing for nearly 1 year and everytime I swing (without the ball) on a welcome matt I either miss the mat by half an inch or hit the matt hard. I always try to keep my form the same but I still make that mistake. I would very much appreciate it if anybody has any advice for my poor swing please let me know because it has been very frustrating. Thanks Basil

Hi Basil: When friends experience this problem I instruct them to: 1-bring the club back slowly (almost in slow motion) and when you get to the top of the swing power through on the downswing with your normal speed. 2-When you start to pull the club back, keep the clubhead as close to the ground as possible for as long as possible. These things worked for me a long time ago and it works for anyone I instruct to do it. Give it a try. Good Luck Trevor Critch
