Question:
I love to golf, but my, well, breasts get in the way. I can really drive long distances but the outside of my breast closest to my swinging arm is in the way! Perhaps I should give it up! ~Sedona~ http://community.webtv.net/SedonaRain/SEDONARAIN

In case this isn’t a troll, you might want to look in your local sportswear shop for a sports bra which should help to, erm, minimze the problem. Stan — Stan The Man +++Naked Under This Macintosh+++ DELETE X if replying

Michelle Mcgann has large breast, she can play! This is probably a troll, but... Try putting your left arm over the left breast (keeping the breast between the arm and the body), and right arm behind (to the right of) the right breast. This will help in the takaway. As the body clears on the downswing, the breast should be fine. Good golfing... -- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada RSG Roll Call: http://u1.netgate.net/~kirby34/rsg/huntm.htm

You have a serious problem with your priorities. If this is a real problem and if you were really serious about becoming a better golfer you would do as the Amazons did. If your young and attractive and your large firm breasts are getting in the way of your golf swing, call me. I'll hold them out of the way while you swing. Otherwise, figure it out for yourself!!

Response:
Ben Hogan spoke quite specifically about this, encouraging players to get
their arms up on top of their chest and turning their elbows in, thereby clearing a path for them to move during the swing. Hogan actually had his elbows turned slightly out, and there’s an abundance of film footage and photos that proves this. At one point very early in his career he forcibly turned his elbows in. He abandoned this and never went back to it. However, you can find drawings of his elbows turned IN – and his elbows turned OUT in his book 5 LESSONS. This is one reason you’ll see a lot of golfers trying to swing with their elbows forcibly turned in. And it’s just another reason why the golf swing is so hard to learn. Namely, errors, errors, and more errors. At any rate, if you don’t believe me, go to any of the Hogan videos now on the market. David A. – –

I wear’em all the time, except in the summer when the heat gives me a rash.

Re: breasts, there are several backswing methods that take the arms somewhat away from the body (outside path). E.g., Trevino, Fred Couples, etc. David A. – – –

I knew Trevino used to play golf with a Dr. Pepper bottle, but I never heard about him playing with tits. Was this before or after his U.S. Open win?
