I haven’t seen the software, but I can tell you that to get an analogue video into your computer, you’ll just have to spring for some kind of transcoder, be it a digital camera through which you can pass the analogue signal into the computer or a capture card that is designed to digitize the signal. They can be had for around $100 on up (the cheap ones aren’t great, but they’ll do the job for personal use). Either way, you need a firewire connection on your computer to connect into your computer. Many of the newer computers even have them built in. Randy – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the video swing analyzers that are downloadable from the internet. With a quick search I found the following ones on download.com: * Golf Swing Studio 1.0 * cSwing 2002 Release 2 * V1 Home Software 1.0 * JC Video Personal Golf Analyzer Software 3.1 With my new digital camcorder I thought it might be neat to record my swing from a few angles and play them back on the computer. Then I got to thinking that an analysis program where I could draw reference points on the video and perform other functions might be nice. Anyone with any experience with any of these (or others) please let me know what you thought and any recomendations. Thanks, John Michalak

Re: Attached Thanks for the response. I do believe that (these days) a firewire connection is not required. Many of the newer digital cameras also support USB (ideally USB2.0 for performance) interfaces. Capture cards are interfaced directly through whatever bus they are attached to. Most standalone units (Dazzle, etc) support one of the USB standards. I was hoping to find someone who has made this work and get some feedback before I spent money on it (probably more that $100 in my case as I run off a laptop and PCMCIA devices or standalone device are generally more expensive). dave

Yes, for the most part, thats all you need. A good Digital Camera (With Tripod) and a golf swing analysis software. Film your swing from a couple of angles (Front and Down The Line are ideal) and load them into the computer and you can tell a whole lot of things about your swing (on plane, over the top, sway, impact position, reverse pivot)
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Is that all you need, a digital movie camera and a swing analyzer program? I imagined it would be a lot more complicated. Puttster Thanks guys, I will download and try out cSwing and hopefully see some of the flaws of my swing and setup. I just wanted to make sure that there were no other programs out there that I was missing and to make the best choice in caser I want to buy. I only have played with demo’s but I like cswing alot. On the other hand that Golf Swing Studio is only $12.50. That is kinda hard to beat.
