Question:
Sir, I’m relatively new here and have no axe to grind with anyone. I get a kick out of some of the crazy postings here and am mildly offended by others. I did recieve a lot of good advice on a chipping problem. My reason for this post is your calling someone a "mongoloid" in a derogatory fashion. My grandson was born with Down-Syndrome and there was never a more beautiful child on this earth. I pray that you never have to go through what my family has. These children are Gods children. I know you guys get caught up in your arguing, but, think of the innocents you are insulting. May the New Year get better Jerry

Yes, although I woke up today to fell quite refreshed to see others posting some truths about some of the bad apples within this group, I think they would be better off not responding in kind if at all possible. Difficult as that can be when they idiot fringe, and their trolls who pile in, really get into gear. Occupy the high ground folks, and keep the backbone. — F. Jerry, alot of people take what they have for granted and dont think before they post. I dont even want to pretend I know what your family is going through because I dont. All I can say is I will pray for strength for your family and hope that that stength carries on for generations in your family.

Then they run away and say ‘thats all for now folks, I’m done with this discussion, lets all be nice now’–but continue with name calling whenever they can. You are model for consistency. Did you know that" idiot" is actually a clinical word used in the medical profession to describe someone who is severely impaired from a mental/neurological perspective.. I did not start the name calling here and was called an "idiot" first, so if you are upset with me for using the term "mongoloid", that is fine, but realize that "idiot" is also a term that refers to retarded people and is equally insulting to them. i don’t know if children with down’s syndrome are "god’s children" as you say. This may make you feel better in dealing with this situation, but A loving god would not wish that on any family. It is simply an unfortunate genetic consequence that sadly effects a lot of families. I recently lost a cousin myself who had downs syndrome. He was 30 years old and had a lot of problems with his heart valves. he was very personable and fun to be around, but also had many chronic health problems. His family was strapped with hugh financial bills during his whole life as he was on a lot of medicine and couldn’t even be left alone. Your posting is a reminder to all of us that when we use names, someone gets hurt, intentionally or not. If you have read this forum for any period of time, you will see "names" and insults almost daily. You posting certainly puts a different perspective on all this and i thank you for it. eric
