Sticky Rubber Wading Shoes???

Question:

I tried out my new pair of L.L. Bean rubber-soles last weekend.  I could barely stay on my feet when in rocky territory, and this was in slow Ohio waters!!

Response:

The only really "sticky" surface are Corkers.  Honest, they go where no other surface will go, and I have used them all. Fred Rickson

I gotta agree with this felt soles with studs is the only way to go if your fishing fast rocky streams or ones with algae covered boulders.  On gravel/sandy bottoms rubber might be ok, but if it was me I would stick with at least  felt soles. Good Fishing, C. Segina

Fred Rickson – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi, I’m about to buy a new pair of wading shoes, and I wondered if any anyone cared to give a review of the non-felt, sticky rubber soled shoes. I’m considering L.L. Bean at the moment, but I’m concerned about durability and effectiveness in fast water. And, it goes without saying, cost is another concern. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I bought a pair of the LL  Bean "Stealth" wading shoes.  I’m going to take them back.  I have fished them 3 times and they are not nearly as good as felt soles on slippery rocks.  I fished the West Branch of the PEnobscot in Maine and am lucky I came back alive. I you fish grave or sany bottom streams or lakes and ponds, they would be okay.  They are not for granite ledge, cannon-ball boulders or any algae-covered rocks.
