Question:
Biggest bargain in golf equipment today. Consider that these were selling for well over $1000 when TA was marketing them. If you can play them, and there shouldn’t be any reason why not, they are a good club with the proper shaft.
Response:
I bought a TA graphite 1 iron to test. It felt really good. But after 10-15 swings on the practice tee, the huge club head went 50 yards further off the tee than the ball did. It was a pretty clean break from the shaft. Needless to say, the club is going back to Sam’s for a refund. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -I saw Tommy Armour irons with pure Ti head for $399 at Sam’s for steel or graphite shaft. They have the largest head I ever saw on irons, about 20% larger. Anyone try these out? What do you think?

Response:
Those clubs are at Sam’s for a reason. The clubheads are just way too big to be effective from anything but a perfect lie in the fairway. ( and don’t particuallary work well from there) I’d suggest staying away from those clubs – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I saw Tommy Armour irons with pure Ti head for $399 at Sam’s for steel or graphite shaft.
