Question:
Can somebody help me identify a course I heard and read about several years ago? This course is in France or Belgium (perhaps the Netherlands or Germany), and they left all the bomb craters, bunkers, and bombed out vehicles in place. Supposedly, there are also areas the warn you not to enter to chase your ball as there may still be "mines" present. We are going to Europe soon and would like to locate this course (or any similar) and play it/them.
All golfers may be masochists, but suicidal? "Yep, toughest course I ever played. Lost my leg off the 13th fairway. Had to bunny hop the rest of the way."
Response:
I believe there is a golf course overlooking Omaha Beach (but might be Utah Beach). Perhaps that is the one you’re looking for. Maybe Klopman knows. Remsleep

Also, if anyone is aware of any truly extraordinary and/or unusual golf courses in Western Europe (not the U.K. or Ireland), please post or e-mail me details and locations. Many thanks, Mark

I have played Omaha Beach. Very pretty and good golf course. No tanks or craters though. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I believe there is a golf course overlooking Omaha Beach (but might be Utah Beach). Perhaps that is the one you’re looking for. I would hate to be the poor soul in charge of cart repairs on this course.
