Question:

Ditto on Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. They’ll give you complete information about the area and its golf courses. The only problem with Myrtle Beach is that there is not many good places to eat. A lot of sea food buffet places.

my limited experience with Vegas is very big bucks…..Myrtle is great but you need to wait until April to get a drop in prices…If you can wait till May and look up  a cheap motel you could  do Myrtle and play some of the top courses for 40 to 60 dollars. I suggest don’t get a package although it is tempting. Just go there after the middle of April. by the paper each day and look for coupons or specials.Don’t miss Heritage, Marsh Harbor, Surf club, Oyster Bay, and there are lots of other great courses….have fun

I travel to vegas once or twice a year and always play golf.  It will be in "high season" when your there, so a good deal will be hard to find.  That being said, I would try to get some "twilight" tee times. Keep in mind that the sun goes down in mid-March about 5:45. (I checked that out on the net)  I played the Pauite Resort at twilight and it you can probably get "in season" rates at $85.  The Pauite has two great Pete Dye tracks that you will enjoy.  FYI, regular Pauite rates in March are probably in the $140 range. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hello, Two friends and I are thinking of taking a golf trip in a month or two.  It looks like we’ll be leaning toward Las Vegas or Myrtle Beach for price and convenience.  We usually play 36 each day, and like a wide variety of courses.  If anyone has any suggestions on which courses to play and/or where to find a good package deal, any help would be appreciated. Keep in mind of course that we’re working men, not millionaires.  Obviously we don’t want the cheap courses we could play anywhere, but I’m sure there are some good deals out there.  Thanks in advance, Joe

Myrtle Beach Golf Shop. ( www.myrtlebeachshop.com ). Web site needs work, been to busy to add on lately. We have some nice packages, and we include all costs. That all sounds very good Colin.  Any suggestions on how to avoid sitting in the big aluminum sausage with wings for more than 5 hours at a stretch? <grin

Joe, I’ve never been to Vegas, but have been to MB several times.  You can’t go wrong there.  I suggest you go to http://www.golfholiday.com/package.html and order their book.  There are a huge number of different packages, and I’ve always found that book to be a good summary (I have no afflilation with them, if you’re wondering). There’s no comparison in golf between M.B. and Vegas.  M.B. has 100 courses, some great ones, and is much better value.
