I already responded to John privately, but since others have followed up here, this is the deal: I haven’t finalized plans on the Friday round yet. I’m expecting calls from two golf courses tomorrow, and we’ll probably go to one of them. Here’s my challenge: I didn’t anticipate so many of you wanting to play on Friday, so I didn’t include the practice round as part of the pre-registration. Golf courses typically want their greens fees "guaranteed" for a group booking. When they block out that many tee times and make them unavailable for the public to book, they want to make sure they don’t go to waste. So when a large group is booked, somebody is usually on the hook for the full amount. That’s why I get the fees paid ahead of time for Saturday/Sunday, so I can give the course a firm number and already have the money in hand. Now, this Friday round is a little trickier. I don’t have anybody’s money for it, but I want to book quite a few more players than I originally anticipated. Looks like about half our field (maybe more) wants to play on Friday. That’s great, and we’ll make it happen, but I don’t want to be on the hook for it. Not that I don’t trust anyone, but I know how plans can change unexpectedly. So… I think I’ve identified one course that will work with us on this. They’re not generally so crowded on Fridays that booking maybe four or five foursomes will be a big deal for them. Plus ***PLEASE NOTE*** I may have each of you who are playing this practice round call the course with your credit card number and guarantee your own tee time. Depends on if the lady at the course tells me she’ll do that. I’ll probably know tomorrow. Well I don’t know how you play full contact death round where you come from, but here it only counts if you use it to hit your ball. Hitting your opponent is a different matter altogether.
