Question:
I have heard that fees in Phoenix are low in the summer, and high in the winter. I’ve always been amused at how golf courses charge you extra for cool weather… A Phoenix winter is like a Vermont summer.
Yeah, I live in Orlando. I know all about subtropical weather… :) Greg

I have heard that fees in Phoenix are low in the summer, and high in the winter. Can anyone comment on when they start to go up? I am considering cashing some Hilton points to go to Phoenix and stay at one of the resorts there, but don’t want to pay peak season greens fees. They may rise slightly before overseeding begins in Sep-Oct. Then they rise to about half their winter level in the Nov-Dec time frame, obtaining their full glory sometime between Dec 25 and Jan 15, depending on the course. -joseph
To give you an example of how much green fees change from winter to summer, I play Grayhawk all summer long for $25, including all the apples and bananas I can eat. During the peak season (Jan – May), the green fees are $200, including the fruit. They start going up in October with fees at about $150. — Edit name to reply, I hate SPAM
