Question:
I was in Peter’s 4some, until my boss gave me a special present that was due late Monday. I hope my sub did as well as I hoped I would and had as much fun as I thought I would. Looked like the weather was top notch. I’m going out on a Tue Wed special next week- any interest???
Can’t make it, Dan. Tuesdays and Thursdays I’m with the Seniors up at Tilden; Wednesdays, beginning day after tomorrow, I’m taking care of my granddaughters while Momma gets some work done of her own. My regular "free" day is Monday. Lemme say this, however: I might be interested in one of those Tue/Wed specials before they run out end of September, perhaps later in Sept. I’ll let you know. We missed ya. Weather was perf. Not too hot, no wind at all. Amazing. Peter

I’d like to personally thank Peter Strauss for taking advantage of a great deal AND for letting me in on it so I could join him and two acquaintances at Poppy Ridge this morning. Even though it was a shotgun start, I couldn’t pass up the $35 green fee which included the cart – this is definitely NOT a course that you want to walk voluntarily, not that we had a choice anyhow. I finally got to play the Zinfandel 9, which is one of the main reasons I decided to go. Although the main reason they had the morning shotgun was due to a big NCPGA afternoon tournament, we were told they may do this more often because it allows them to completely shutdown one of the 9-hole courses for maintenance. I suppose I’m more giddy because I played one of my best rounds, score-wise, of this year, but I figured I’d throw out the heads-up to the NCGA members who maybe don’t know about the E-mail notifications. Thanks again, Peter! jeff My pleasure, entirely, Jeff. It was great to play a round with you again. Ditto everything Jeff says above, and, if you want to get in on the email action, go to www.ncga.org, click on Poppy Ridge, and you’ll find, somewhere in that section, a place to register for their email newsletters. Well worth it. Jeff: I sent you a private email: your score was actually one stroke lower than you thought — addition error! Peter

The weather was just about perfect. Started out a bit cool, but the sun broke out quite early and it started to really warm up as we finished. Hardly any breeze, which was a nice change for me considering my previous 2 rounds there were afternoon affairs with the prevailing 15-20mph wind. I’m going out on a Tue Wed special next week- any interest???
Enticing, but I know I shouldn’t. I’m already going to be playing 3 rounds in 3 days out in Arizona next weekend, so I better not push my luck with my back. Besides after shooting even par on the Chardonnay- 9, I don’t want to push my luck with my score either.
