Myrtle Beach Golf Courses

Question:

Shooting over 100  should not keep you from having fun and  blowing a ridiculous amount of money like the rest of us on the more expensive courses. You want to get your money’s worth don’t you?

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I will be in Myrtle Beach in the next few weeks and I was wondering if any of you know of some of the "easier" courses.  I normally shoot a little over 100 so I don’t want to pay a lot of money to play. Thanks Charles McNeill

Response:

Well, in the next few weeks wil be "peak season" here for greens fees through October.  $$$$$

Agree, fine deals abound in November, in my experience.  $80 courses become $40 courses. If the DivotDigger is lurking here I’m hoping he plans an early winter trip to Myrtle, great deals can be had especially at the last minute and I’m only a few hours away. Lumpy.

Raccoon Run in Socastee, Island Green, ditto.

Response:

Some of the ‘name’ courses, like Kings North, have five sets of tees. You don’t have to play a dog track, just choose the right tees for your game. Check the Sun News newspaper when you’re here, and by all means ask the course pro shop if there are tee time specials you can take advantage of. I expect you’ll get some very nice courses that’ll charge you less than $40.

For a golfer who shoots in the 100s Island Green could be a nightmare.  It’s tight and often very demanding. RW
