Hole-in-one, but….

Question:

John R posted this account of his hole-in-7. http://tinyurl.com/q0q9

Response:

I got my first hole in one.  After playing for a little over a year, I put it in from 105 yards.  However on the next hole, I knocked 3 balls into the water and shot 10.

Rich, Rich, Rich… There is no "but." It’s a hole in one. An ace. Be thankful. No buts. -b

Response:

I got my first hole-in-one 8 months into my new found golfing career, it was 108 yard par 3, I used an 8 iron (ha ha) and sent a line drive right into the bunker wall, as the sand erupted, the ball rolled across the green and into the cup.  When the game was finally over, I shot 103 on a par 64, threw away my 7 wood, tossed a 3 wood into the trees, and accumulated 7 penalty strokes.  The game was a nightmare come true, divided by 12 seconds of absolute golfing bliss.  The moment that……keeps you comming back for more. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I got my first hole in one.  After playing for a little over a year, I put it in from 105 yards.  However on the next hole, I knocked 3 balls into the water and shot 10. – rich

Congratulations!   About the next hole?  So what?  Doesn’t diminish the ace one whit. Fergit the next, remember the ace. Nice going! Peter

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Not to do with aces, but where are golf courses in meters? I’m in Ontario Canada, which is "metric country" (if you can call it that), and all the courses around here (and there are roughly 15, within an hour’s drive) are all yards.?? Quebec probably. With McGinty chummy with the fed liberals, probably here in Ontario soon too.

Europe. ;-) Tony (Cyclone) comes from Australia. All the courses here in Australia are marked out in metres … hole lengths, distances on sprinkler heads, course lengths etc. Just add 10% to get yards. — Cheers Colin Wilson RSG Roll Call: http://rec-sport-golf.com/members/?rollcall=wilsonc Trentham Golf Club: http://www.trenthamgolf.com

Doesn’t matter.  Brag anyway.  :-) I have a friend who went 9, 1, 9 on three consecutive holes.  He still brags about it and I don’t blame him. Congratulations! A hole-in-three? :-( My son nearly did that a couple of weeks ago. Hit a ball in the water on a par-3, teed off again and plugged the ball three centimetres from the cup … walked off with bogey. — Cheers Colin Wilson RSG Roll Call: http://rec-sport-golf.com/members/?rollcall=wilsonc Trentham Golf Club: http://www.trenthamgolf.com
