Question:
I’ve played it a couple of times, always in scramble tourney’s. It’s very nice and the par 3’s are long and tough. It is a shame it will not be a regular on the tour stop because everyone seems to like it really well. I think it looks good on TV, the players all like it, even Curtis S and Mike T have been bending over backwards to compliment it. So what keeps it from becoming a regular stop? Politics? Financial? I saw the TPC here in The Woodlands loose the SHO. That was all politics and financial reasons. Great golf course, pros loved it. Lots of great golf courses in this area.
Response:
THE TOUR Championship’s title sponsor is Coca-Cola, which crafted a deal with the TOUR to keep the TC at East Lake in Atlanta (Coke’s hometown) for most of the run of the contract. The tournament has, for several years, had a rotation between East Lake and Champions. But I believe the contract called for most of the events to be in Atlanta, under the shadows of Coca-Cola’s headquarters. Randy
