At last!

Question:

I don’t know how many times I’ve started out 3, 4, 5 over through 5 holes and finished 3, 4, or 5 over.  It’s hard to keep/regain your concentration when it seems like it’s going to be "one of those days" but after you do it enough it starts to sink in that it is in fact possible … some days you get off a bad start and that’s it.  Same thing, sort of, applies when you’ve played 14-16 holes well.         -joseph – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – scribbled… I’ll let you into my secret. It’s all in your head. All my really good (sub-par) rounds have been when I’ve got myself into this sort of weird state where I feel like I’m watching someone else playing. If I’m level with 6 to go I don’t start worrying. I get this feeling like ‘I don’t care if it goes wrong now. I know I can play’. I’ll just go along for the ride and see what happens. Does anyone else get into this zone? That’s pretty much the way I felt that one time I shot a 3-under 69. I was at 4-under through 13 and was basically just loping along.  I went bogey-bogey on 14 and 15 and the thought that I was going to finish poorly and end up over par honestly never entered my mind. Response:

Cool.  I’m still trying to break par from a normal mens set of tees (6500-6800 yards).  I’m a 5, probably been bogey-free for 13-15 holes without thinking too much about it before. The only nifty thing I’ve done is hit 17 greens in regulation in a row.  The bummer is, on 18 I had to wait 10 minutes for a dad and his kid playing ball to get the $#*!& off the fairway, and when they finally moved to the side, I was so rattled that I pulled my drive OB into the houses.  Ho well. Congratulations, anyway!         -joseph – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – OK, I don’t normally do this, but I thought I’m so chuffed that I’ve got to boast! This week I had my first 18 holes without a single bogey. It’s been one of my targets for a few years. I only started thinking about it when I got past 14 without one. It was fun playing under pressure on the last few holes, knowing what I was trying to do. I even birdied the last for a 3 under par 69.

Congratulations on your achievement Simon. B Terry

Why can’t I get in it all the time?

Heck, Simon, that’s the $64,000 question.  If you ever found out how to do that, you could bottle it, sell it, and retire a rich man. jeff — Jeff Chung http://u1.netgate.net/~kirby34 Kirby Puckett Tribute, San Jose Area Golf Courses, Movie Quotes, MIDI

Yep…  drives go long and straight, the irons find the greens and most importantly, the putter can’t miss from inside ten feet!! Why can’t I get in it all the time?

because this is golf…   :-( Oscar

No abuse – Congratulations.
