Can somebody help me? When I get into the bad rhythm blues, I go out and hit short shots. 50, 70, 85, 100 yd wedges. Just try to be very smooth. No jerky, handsy swings, focus on the distance of the shot and making crisp contact wtih the ball. Works for me. Good Luck.

When a football team has a bad game where everything seems to go wrong, and they ask the coach what he plans to do, he always says, "We are going back to the basics – blocking and tackling". If your golf game is going bad, I suggest going back to basics. Take out a 7 or 8 iron, put the ball in a very good lie, aim at a target about 100 yards away, and just take a little swing and send the ball toward the target. Keep doing this over and over again. Gradually your body will relax more, and your feel for the club will return. If you just "let it happen" and don’t try to force things, I bet your swing will start to feel better. Don’t be in a hurry to start hitting longer shots. You might want to hit 100 or 200 of these little shots. You probably have a lot of tension in your swing from some recent poor play, and it will take time for you to overcome it. One time I practiced like this for an entire day. Eventually, your body will tell you it wants to hit some longer shots. Remember, listen to your body and trust your natural coordination.

One thing I read about a while back that might help you is to rent/purchase a tape of Al Geiberger or some other sweet swinging pro and watch it over and over and over. Not tring to memorize it, just watch it. There is a level of perception apparently that allows you to learn by watching.

Could you give us a few details? Fat, thin, left or right. Not much to go on here.
