Question:
Golfin Don and I played golf today at Summer Glen near Ocala. Don was better by far than I (I still owe him his winnings though) but except for three holes I was not totally unsatisfied with my round. Don can hit the ball (with a backswing that, in his words, feels too long if it gets to his waist) and manages sand shots with particular skill. Don had a "trophy" to award the winner…he won it (and made it). It is the "Annika": a gold painted 5 iron. I presume that it isn’t required to actually play with it sticking in your ass (see Annika’s initial reference to this 5 iron) but the honor of winning it rests with Golfin Don. We had a great time, talked about things not golf related, discussed a few of our favorite topics, and enjoyed the relative peace of being the second of two groups on the entire course. The Ocala RSG event will be announced before too long (last minute details being worked out) but it seems that we will try to get to Royal Oaks in Ocala for the event around mid-February. Keep your schedule open and felxible around the middle of next month. All-in-all I had a great time meeting Don, being beat by him (both stroke and match play), playing with someone that plays by the rules, and is fun to be with at the same time. I’m looking forward to our next match. Keep Ocala RSG in mind…the more the merrier. Rick R

It was a beautiful golf day and I got to meet an RSGer. Rick R. and I shared many similar experiences and just about identical as far as playing a round of golf. Rick was fun to play with and I felt I had known him a long time, since we could reference to other posters and ideas we have in common. I plan to offer the "Annika" gold 5 iron to the next RSG event as a revolving prize. No, Don Doyle, I haven’t mounted it yet. Looks like a few more are going to make the big event next month. don

It could be worse. A former Super Bowl QB, who shall remain nameless for reasons to be revealed in about 2 seconds, told me that he and his buddy used to have what they called a "Booty Crack Plaque." The premise was that the first one of them to make a hole-in-one (this is where it gets gross) got to wipe his butt with the ball and the other guy had to have his picture taken holding said ball in his mouth (real sickos those ex-Bears). The picture would then be mounted on the "Booty Crack Plaque" for all eternity. I don’t know if any of them ever had the dubious distinction of adorning the BCP, but it kinda makes the new "Annika" trophy seem rather classy dontcha think?
Response:
Annika, I don’t care if you’re a boy or a girl or in transition. You inspired the most coveted trophy on the RSG circuit. Yes, one would have to admit that it is a bit classy. don

I think that it is only fair that Annika "shows" you how it should be properly mounted.

No offence intended, but personally I’m finding this banal anal humour rather tiresome. I mean, what is it with this pre-occupation with "butts"? It’s like the British and their toilets. I’m not offended by it (others might be though, this is a public forum after all), I just don’t find any of it that funny. Sorry, I forgot to say "fabled" CoffeeMaker trophy. Oops. But I think fabled and coveted can be interchanged. Jim’s also wearing the hideous purple jacket, which has a little pink patch on the pocket. Said patch is shaped like Ohio. By the way, that’s me behind Jim, feigning applause. Actually I was quite jealous, after all, the trophy IS coveted you know. Thor created both prizes back in ‘96 for the winner of the annual RSG-Ohio tournament, held on Saturday morning of each rsh-ohio. Jim actually broke the little glass bubble on top of the trophy in ‘99 (when he became the first, and I believe, only multiple winner). We were running late and in a big hurry to get to the tee for our "ohio vs. the world" match play madness match. It gives the trophy character (as if it needed any more), and looks good as new! Apologies if this has already been answered, I’m not getting all posts on rsg because the company that’s going to put their spam below my name apparently isn’t capable of delivering all the posts to me. It’s has been awarded each year to the winner of RSG Ohio….since ‘95? Just after the trophy is awarded, then the real fun begins, Match Play Madness, Ohio vs. The World. There is no Cup for that, but there is some great golf played! Make Birdies, it’s easier that way. Don, I’d just like to add to what Mark has just stated by telling you that, RSG-Ohio is just not a place to pickup some classy threads and a shiny trophy. Oh no…RSG-Ohio is much more then that. My God man, it’s a Shmajor! -ss RSG roll call http://u1.netgate.net/~kirby34/rsg/shireys.htm

In addition to the SchMajor Coffeemaker Trophy, there is the highly prized Can/Am Cup, fought over by teams from Canada and the USA at RSG Detroit in a Match Play event. David, I forgot about your site showing the cup. I see that you have added some comments since I last saw it. Good Job. However, just to prove that luck was the reason the Canadian’s stole the cup is the fact that you didn’t even know what course you were on. It is Hartland Glen – not hartford!!
Corrections must be made or the cup must be returned.
