tee up woth driver

Question:

What is the proper height for a tee when useing a driver?

Response:

IMHO, there is no singular & best ball height when teeing up. In addition to it being very much a personal matter greatly dependent on the type of swing a player makes, teeing the ball at different heights can also produce different ball flight. I will tee up the ball on the low side, with my knuckle just touching the ground.  On the high side, I tee the ball so it’s equator is even with the top of the club head when resting on the ground. If there were an all around best tee height, it would be half way between the two extremes I suggested above.   I have seen folks tee a ball much higher than my "high" position and get away with very good contact. Not me. RJ … – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – What is the proper height for a tee when useing a driver?

Depends on where the center of mass is on your driver and some other swing characteristics.  You swing the club where you want to swing it by making subtle adjustments in your posture etc.  But you probably have a preference for low or high, and that is what you use for your own decision, along with ball behavior with a particular driver. One of my golf school pupils manufactures tees with a preset depth shaft feature.  The height that the tee makes the ball sit is always the same, and it happens to be the height I like.  The first round I used that tee I had the most consistent driving I’ve had in a long time, and I always struggle with tee height because of its criticality. Wonderful little thing.  He’s sending me a potfull – I’ll never use a regular tee again!

I see these at the golf shop in 3 different heights.

Can anyone answer this?  I think it’s just personal preference.  Like asking what is the proper swing thought.  I tee very high.  My best friend John barely has the top part of the tee showing…Both of us get similiar results.
