Question:
I think of it as using your muscles to keep your arm straight and not to lock your elbow. It should be as straight as possible and the word natural is correct. Best of luck Jef
| 1. Not everyone can get the club pointed to the target. | 2. Not everyone can keep their left arm straight. | 3. Never EVER listen to friends giving you advice. | 4. GO SEE A PRO | | | I’m trying to figure out what the proper swing is for the driver. First | of all, I’ve been trying this tip that people tell me that all golf pros | aggree to, which is to keep the left arm straight at all times in the | backswing. I’ve more or less got that hammered down for the irons except | that even when I cock the wrist right about when my elbow is going to | bend, my club at the top of the swing still cannot point at the target. | Is that insufficient shoulder turn or should the elbow bend a little at | the top of the swing? | | More importantly, should I swing the driver the same way or is there | another way to do it? | | Thanks, | | Ralph | | |

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Keep ur left arm straight but not stiff. When u come the top of ur backswing and some golfers bend their left arms if naturally then it is ok. The key word here is naturally. From Richard
Response:
please don’t even refer to it as English

I doubt whether "all golf pros" would reccomend a stiff left arm. Keep it roughly straight but a little flex in your left arm is fine.
