Mysterious golf ball ??

Question:

Thanks Gordon. Mystery solved. It makes sense, we often have police outings on our course. Regards John

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Can anyone help identify a golf ball which I found at my club, Renfrew, Scotland. It is a Choice Red 492 – about which I can only find reference to on a Chinese golf site. It has  a logo, a shield with two birds and the moto "Bi Glic" which appears to be gaelic. From your description I would think it is the Crest and motto of the Scottich Police College at Tulliallan. ‘Bi Glic Bi Glic’  translated from  Gaelic means   ‘ Be wise, be circumspect’. Ball probably came from the gift shop. http://www.tulliallan.police.uk/www/history.htm Del.

Response:

Bi-glic is the motto of the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan. Reckon the ball belonged to a cop!!! Lorraine Wiltshire.

Response:

Only if you can tell me what the logo is, what the number is, and what identifying mark is on it. Rules of golf dear chap…you must be able to positively identify your ball. Good swinging. John

Choice Red 492 – Surlyn-Two Piece Made in Korean – Choice Korea Inc. 492 dimples Two piece, solid centre, single cover construction It has a low spin rating when hit with a driver and medium spin when struck with a short iron. It does confirm to USGA specs I will leave you to research the logo! g.

Response:

I see Gordon has already replied with details on your golf ball.   Use this site: http://www.usga.org/test_center/gballs/index.html and download the pdf document which gives details on any balls allowed by the USGA.  You should be able to find the meaning of "Bi Glic" by using google, although which corporation had it printed on the ball could remain a mystery.  Perhaps printed on all the Choice Red 492’s?? Good Luck! ===== – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Can anyone help identify a golf ball which I found at my club, Renfrew, Scotland.
