Question:
You’re right Loudon, there’s almost no doubt that had Norman tried, he could have adjusted his swing to work with Calc’s driver, but that’s exactly my point, the idea is to find the club that’s right for YOUR NATURAL swing, provided it’s not so innately flawed that it must first be repaired.
Noel Kerns – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I pretty much agree with your premise but not totally with the example you offered. Pros of the caliber you mentioned can usually, but not always, adjust to the feel of unfamiliar clubs. The key word is "adjust" and after using familiar clubs for playing and then practising with them for any prolonged period, it is going to feel foreign to switch to unfamiliar clubs without allowing for ANY period of adjustment. It is quite probable that Norman could have practised with Calc’s clubs for 10/20 minutes and struck the ball just as well as with his own clubs. There certainly are some well known examples that would back up your theory… Payne Stewart, et al. —
