Question:
Tee the ball lower, and/or move the ball back in your stance so you’re hitting it at the bottom of your swing plane rather than on the upswing. Teeing the ball lower will force you to flatten your swing to keep from topping the ball. If I hit my 3 wood better than my driver, I use it off the tee and let my driver collect dust. Use what works.
Response:
My Taylormade BB has a regular graphite shaft and I am a 15 marker with a slowish swing speed. Almost all my drives with this club have a very high trajectory and insufficient distance. In fact, I hit further with my steel shafted Royal Max-fli 3 wood. Any suggestions on correcting this problem will be appreciated.
Response:
I took a golf lesson with my regular Teaching Pro and one of the things we worked on today was hitting drives with my TaylorMade 9.5/Stiff Burner Bubble. My problem stems from not excelerating the club head through impact fast enough. I’m a tempo/keep it in the fairway player, while these drivers require high swing speeds. He hits the ball a ton with this club because his swing is more aggressive than mine. He suggested that either I get more aggressive at impact and not try to control the shot so much, or sell the club and buy a driver that’s shorter in length, more shaft flex, and a higher loft 11 degrees or greater. Good luck! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – My Taylormade BB has a regular graphite shaft and I am a 15 marker with a slowish swing speed. Carl– why not just have the 9.5 reshafted to your swing speed? a lot easier and cheaper than selling the thing and buying another– I hit my TM 9.5 degree loft clone quite high now that I have a more flexible shaft (Have an 85-90 mph swing speed).
