Question:
I picked up golf around 10 months ago. I have two major problems. First I have a strong tendency to hit toe shots. Going 45-80 degrees to the right. I checked this with impact tape. Pretty consistent with driver and woods off the tee. Second if I finally hit the ball solid, I consistently push shot. Both with irons and woods. Funny thing: If I do not adress the ball properly, but keep the clubhead between the ball and my feet, I hit the ball solid and straight. Works but for sure not the ideal fix to my problem. Any adivce appreciated.

There is no one word answer, Pete. One cannot really approach the complexities of impacting the ball true without a few bits of information about how a swinging club behaves, how your body is elastic and needs to be dealt with in measuring where to put you to hit a ball, the motions of your body, etc. The violence of the act, coupled with the distance of the ball (5 feet plus) FROM you and its dime size impact impression on a club that far from your face — all of that makes for some subtlety. And that is page one… what button to push for "start".
