Question:
I understand that the True Temper shaft is a far superiour shaft, for an otherwise fine club head. However, I’ve only seen it in stiff and freaking stiff. If my swing is around 93mph, am I going to have a hard time with a stiff-shafted driver?
Say what? I think TT shafts are all available in regular and stiff and freakin stiff. If the club only comes with a too-stiff shaft, have it reshafted. dsc – acssysdsc

Please don’t recommend another club — I’m receiving it from an associate at Titleist. Any advice (if you can follow my meandering line of inquiry)? All True Temper shafts are available in any standard flex, from L to XS. Who said you couldn’t get a regular (R) flex shaft for this club? At 93 mph you are probably looking at an R300 or R400 flex shaft, but that would be dependent on what you like. I have the 975D with an EI70 "R" flex shaft. I have a driver swing speed somewhere between 95-100 MPH…….I hit both the R and the S. The R felt much better to me. One thing to keep in mind……this is a bore through club head. As Golfsmith states, shafts in bore through clubheads tend to play a bit stiffer than thier flex rating. I had to special order my driver to get the R flex. It didn’t take long to get, but I have never seen a 975D/EI70 R flex in any of the shops. They are all S and Tour.
