Question:
I know you have probably 10 15 putters lying around in your house or bag. Ever tried one of those Bettinardi? (sp??) if so, how do they feel?
I have a Bettinardi BB2 (wilson style blade with insert) and it feels great. It weighs much more than my Cameron Terrylium (sp?) Newport. I use the Bettinardi on slow greens, the Cameron on fast. With the blade style, I feel like I’ve started to stroke the ball instead of jabbing at it. If you can get your hands on one, I’d recommend it. As a bonus, they do hold their value very well. — "There are simply some emotions that cannot be expressed with the club still in one’s hand" Bobby Jones

Response:
I don’t own one, but a friend of mine has one and we were putting with it in the studio today. They do feel solid, though I don’t think any more so than my Scotty. It’s a different feel. Not sure if I liked it or not. But I hate the grip (which of course can be changed). I always refer to it as his "Valerie Bertanelli putter." Oh, I’ve owned hundreds, but at the present time, I’m down to just a handful. Let’s see here… Four Scotty Camerons - Inspired by David Duval - Newport 2 - Mil Spec 35 inch (the current weapon of choice) - Mil Spec 33 inch (for sale) One White Hot (great on slow, bumpy greens) One Wilson 8813 (great as a door stop) One BullsEye (why I haven’t gotten rid of this, I do not know) One Cleveland (limited edition Byron Nelson putter, a keepsake) So it’s just eight. Putters: They come and go. Kind of like women. I know you didn’t ask me, but I have sampled most of the Bettinardi line(A store in my area had all the models so I tried them out). Overall a great putter with excellent feel, but they come with a pretty steep price tag (300-500 depending on model). If money wasn’t an object, I would have bought one, but I thougth the Cameron putters felt just as nice, so I bought a used Cameron for about $100 less that the Bettinardi. But as with any club what one person likes another may hate.
