Hazard to children

Question:

Bad taste, I agree.  But it is up to the parents to be involved with what their children are watching and discuss with them the right and the wrong, the difference between fake and real.  Television is geared to all people, and to remove a silly commercial would mean why not remove all those other awful commercials that promote violence, or remove violent childrens programming. Censorship is the answer here. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Please forward this letter to everyone that you know. This commercial has potentially deadly consequences. BAD news travels fast. Ok it has been two weeks and no solution to getting this commercial off the air or airing it later in the evening. It contains one man standing in front of another man on a golf tee, hitting golf balls into the mans head in front of him… the man in front is acting as if he can tell what kind of ball is being used and the club being used to hit the golf ball. At the end of the commercial the man in front turns around and the golf balls are embedded in the back of the mans head. If 2 children see this and try it, someone could be hurt, or possibly worse. I had written the company Storerunner three times and it’s Affliate CBS and they think it is not dangerous for small children seeing this type of behavior. Please forward this to everyone you know. man you got to be kidding me. if they should get that off tv then they should take tom and jerry cartoons off tv. for that matter all the cartroons and dont forget the three stooges then there is the westerns like bonanza and for shure the evening news with the pictures of the fighting and war. Oh yes we better get rid of the soap advertisements with the dirty kids because they might get the idea it would be fun to go play in the dirt. get real.

Really, I agree. Isn’t that what a remote is for? Change the channel. That’s all anyone has to do if they don’t like what they see. I see damn plenty that I don’t like. My finger isn’t broken, however. It gets quite a bit of exercise, between what I don’t like and what I’m I’m afraid of missing. ;) Josie……. who’s by nature a channel surfer anyway.

Actually it takes everyone involved.. media, parents and teachers (in conjunction with parents) The media puts out horrible stuff which ya’lls kids are buying.. we have to make sure our kids don’t buy the garbage video games out there, watch the garbage TV or read the garbage magazines. Also see what your kids are doing on the internet.. If you do all this, there will be no way for the media to profit from making these things and everyone wins. We can talk till we are blue in the face..but sometimes turning off the TV, or taking away the magazine works better.. I get sick of hearing parents say "I don’t like that show but my kids watch it".. hello?? what’s wrong with that picture.. sigh.. anyway..just venting Chey

To all parents the answer is simple, talk to your children about the commercial and the difference between real and make believe.  We can’t be going around blaming commercials, movies and video game for our lack of ability to communicate with our children.

Considering all the other ads that are run, even during children’s shows, I am not surprised.  This one is probably viewed as "cute" or "funny".  Unless everyone really raises cane with the advertisers and *stops buying the product* or something similar, then things will not change.  Let’s not leave unmentioned the ads for steamy and/or violent tv shows that they run during kids programming!  They show far too much domestic violence and bed scenes on some channels in that time frame. – Aula – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Please forward this letter to everyone that you know.
