Question:
Terminology mixup–my long drives were 240ish total–meant to say with roll not with carry. I feel better today. Twenty four hours removed and the only feelings left are the joys of seeing the good ones fly. The nice young men in their clean white coats are no longer parked on my block. In San Diego, there is a KGB radio. I thinks it’s 101.5 but it’s been a while. If you’re familiar with the San Diego Chicken (or maybe he changed his name to the Famous Chicken) at sporting events, he actually started out as the KGB chicken. He was at all the concerts and Padres games. When they wouldn’t give him as much money as he wanted, he designed his own chicken suit, won a court case and the rest is history. Just not golf history. But blame Scott for that. Mark Georg

What’s all this talk about KGB radio? They aren’t into radio. You’re confused. They make clubheads. And clubs. And very good ones, too. In fact, I use a KGB… What? That’s KZG? Oh. Never mind. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I think I’ll end up in a padded room if I keep playing this game! <snip It’s really not that bad Dave. You’ve forgotten the rest of the precautions… lead-lined undies, no metal fillings, and keep your computer in a fully copper-clad Faraday room just to be safe. Oh, also, wrap your golf balls with lead tape to keep the enemy from guiding them into a wicked slice… — Eliyahu Rooff www.geocities.com/Area51/Underworld/8096/HomePage.htm RSG Rollcall http://u1.netgate.net/~kirby34/rsg/rooffe.htm

Oh, so that’s what I’m doing wrong! Jerry
Response:
I think I’ll end up in a padded room if I keep playing this game! On the front today I had the best tee-to-green performance of my short golfing life. I broke out my old three-wood with the hopes that it’s offset face would help my slicing. I proceeded to hit six of seven fairways including two tee shots that were 240 yards plus (with carry). I only hit one green but I was getting close on the second (or third for the par fives) shot. My chipping was pretty good as well–I had three putts for par that were around four yards. The only problem was that I couldn’t putt to save my life. I got bogies out of those missed four footers but I three-putted three other greens. I had a 43 but it could have easily been a 38. But I was absolutely delighted since I never practice putting, but I’ve put a ton of time, effort, and $$$ into developing a full shot. It felt great! The back??–58. Couldn’t do a damn thing right. Hook OB, slice OB, three in the water, chunked fairway shots. Damn demoralizing. Even my friend who is normally a balancing force in bad times couldn’t put a smile on my face. Golf. I love it. I hate it. Dave Clary/Corpus Christi,TX http://www.geocities.com/texasp38 RSG Roll Call http://u1.netgate.net/~kirby34/rsg/claryd.htm

Those 3 wood shots must have been 280 yarders with roll, which qualifies you for honorable mention in the RSG hall of fame. Assuming your minimum distance 3/4 lob wedge is 150 yd. (into the wind of course)
Response:
Into the wind? Aw hell, I was just about to start my qualifying shots! But if you’re gonna make it too hard, just fugeddaboudit!
