Question:
Looking for some help here . My father passed away a few years ago and I ended up with some golf clubs of his . I am selling them , I know nothing about clubs etc… It is a set of Wilson J.C Snead clubs , there are 3 real wood drivers , # 1 , # 3 and # 4 . The irons are # 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 & a putter. Golf bag and hand cart . Should I sell these at the garage sale tomorrow or keep them ? If I sell them what are they worth ? They are in good shape . Thanks for ANY help . It`s really appreciated ! Jeff
Response:

Interesting…I have a set of Northwestern J.C. Sneads…I wonder if Wilson made them for K-mart…? I just have the Irons, I gave $25 for the clubs, a pullcart, and a decent bag. (all well used) ]]]Z[[[

I don't think these clubs are particularly valuable money-wise -- of course they may have great sentimental value. There's on online used golf club site called Barry O'Brien's (I believe). He says if you send him a detailed description he will appraise your clubs and give you an offer. Alteratively, I think you can buy a display rack for golf clubs just like at the stores. If the clubs are in as good of shape as you say, they might look nice in your living room. Just some thoughts. -- Jim - Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text - Looking for some help here . Z, I bet the Wilson J.C. Sneads are forged models from the early 70s. Probably not top-of-the-line, like Staffs. I've seen Wilson clubs like "Championship" model or something like that, then the name of a pro who was successful at the time. They were probably not their non-pro line clubs. Just my guess. Before you buy.

They could be muscleback blades. Mine are cast cavity backs, regular small heads, not at all mid or oversize, so I date them as Mid 70s...? Probably shortly after PINGs caught on and before oversize became popular. I made a good buy...everybody I loan em to wants em...(g). ]]]Z[[[

I went out and bought a plantation hat years ago because I liked the way J.C. Snead looked in one, but alas, it didn’t make me play any better but I sure looked good when I lost ; ) James Jackson
