Question:
# # Has anyone used one of the Bushnell range finders ? what is your opinion of # them ? Will they work in wooded areas ok ? My bro-in-law has one. Its the 400 yard model. Works well, and repeatable. We spent a couple days with it and a Leica his buddy had (recently stolen. :-( ); they most always read with a yard of each other. How the bushnell works depends on ambient light and reflectiveness of the surface being checked. He’s been able to get a reading on parked cars to a hair under 850 yards. Stumps and trees, somewhat less. It pretty reliably will pick up anything 400 yards away or less. On the other hand, they were able to get repeatable readings with the Leica over 2000 yards away. (This is a good thing for a guy with a single shot .50 BMG.) # Has anyone used one of the Bushnell range finders ? what is your opinion of # them ? Will they work in wooded areas ok ? Just yesterday I was testing my Bushnell 800 yard model in cloudy conditions an hour and a half before dark. I could range trees out to 900 yards and grass or small bushes out to 500 to 600 yards. Bright sunshine reduces the range of the unit. I am sold on them. When I bought my new 800 yard model I moved my 400 yard model into my golf bag. — Len Backus http://www.andrewhomes.com Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/ To leave the Hunting listserv list, send a message with SIGNOFF HUNTING
