Delta Golf Club requirements–Update on Club Glove

Question:

Just went through the Atlanta airport this past weekend.  I have a champion golf bag cover (similar to Club Glove but less expensive). I had no problems either going or coming and wasn’t asked to sign a waiver. FYI- I did curb side check in so may that makes a difference.  and I tipped the guy $5 for taking care of the luggage and the clubs!

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I called Delta’s baggage number and asked about whether using a "Club Glove" was ok for clubs w/o having to sign a liability waiver (if damaged, *no* liability on Delta’s part). The rep told me that the Club Glove *is* OK for travel.  Three options prevent the requirement of a liability waiver:  Hard-sided case, Club Glove, and using a Delta box ($10 each time). I’m going to find a Club Glove and see if my bag will fit.  If so, I think I’ll buy one for the Atlanta trip. Response:

$5 & a smile to a Skycap is well worth it.  You get prompt, courteous service vs. having to put up with lines & the official party line inside.  I once told a Delta employee in Atlanta that, from a frequent flyer’s viewpoint, the Delta Skycaps best exemplified courteous and efficient service.  NONE of my interactions with a Skycap has ever included lies or bullshit – something you frequently get at the gate or from the cockpit during a flight.
