The body was discovered four days later, around a mile from the family’s detached home in Glasshouse Lane, Exeter, opposite Exeter golf and country club. The hammer used in the attack was found in the water at the same spot. The student’s mother, 47-year-old Alice Mortimer, said her world "fell apart" when the body was found.
