Info on Sandals Country Club-Jamaica??

Question:

For those who were wondering, my future bride did not play a round of golf prior to us meeting. She took some lessons after we met and it was all downhill from there. It’s a great way to spend 4 hours together on a lazy afternoon :-) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I don’t have any info…but i just wanna ask, where’d you find your wife!!! Man, I could get used to havng a wife/gf that will be willing to go golfing on my honeymoon whenever that may be..

Response:

hmmm.. are you ranking sex before golf?  =P — do not today that which can be done tomorrow!

Response:

Cool.  I played five times in Hawaii on my honeymoon, three of those times with my wife, go for it and have a blast!  We played the Sandals course last November, when we stopped in Jamaica on a cruise.  It’s nice, not great, but a nice little track if you don’t get your hopes too far up, but we certainly had a lot of fun playing it.  They love for you to use their caddies, since everyone’s goal is to provide some income for everybody over there.  Really tiny greens, Pebble Beach sized, with lots of different slopes.  You will have a blast!  Congrats!!!

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi All,     Leaving for Jamaica on our honeymoon in 3 weeks. We’ll be staying at Sandals Dunns River Golf Resort in Ocho Rios that has unlimited golf at Sandals Country Club. While I can find out a bunch of info on the resort, very little is actually said in all of the literature we’ve been receiving on the course itself.     I’m hoping some of you out there have been there and can help with some insight on your experience. There are several other courses on the island, but since it’s free at Sandals Country Club (read included in the price), I’m wondering if the course is unique enough to play several times.     I’d really appreciate your advice, thanks in advance for your help!!

Response:

Never played sandals but should be good. Also I believe there package includes golf at all there other resorts on the Island where available. Would definitely recommend Tryall if the price is right. Hosted Johnnie Walker where Couples won twice. Excellent course and breathtaking views. Played there twice. Enjoy your honeymoon and don’t forget to have some jerk pork and Red Stripe beer :-)

I stayed there 8 years ago. Great resort. As for the course, [now remember, this was 8 years ago and Sandals had just taken over the course] it was not in very good shape. On some tee boxes you couldn’t even find a level lie. i don’t remember a lot about the layout, but remember thinking that with work it had potential. Sorry I can’t remember more.    gary
