Tell them to go fuck themselves.  I’m serious.  No reason why you should have to put up with that crap.  My family barely talks to me anymore, and I prefer it that way.  When someone does approach me for a "conversation," they usually wind up wishing they hadn’t.  I’ve told them in no uncertain terms that I simply don’t have any patience for stupid people, and if they can’t modify their behavior, just stay the fuck away. Of course I’ll probably feel bad for about 5 seconds when they all eventually die off, but then I’ll remember that while they were living, they had no right to do things and bring up topics that I’ve repeatedly told them not to. Whenever a conversation with my father heads towards that familiar trouble territory (he’s big on projection… talks about how he sees me being disappointed with my own life, and he’s concerned), I tell him to go fuck himself and that I didn’t ask to be born.  I tell him he has no right whatsoever to have ANY expectations, and that I don’t owe him a damn thing because my being born was the worst thing to ever happen to me.  I damn well hope he regrets the foolish decision he made 23 years ago, because I sure as hell do.
