Question:
Taking a cruise next year with golf stop overs in Mexico and Jamaica. Would appreciate any course info, tips, ect for Jamaica. Would like to take my clubs with me, any tips on travling with clubs would help to. Thanks Mike — My opinions are my own and in no way reflect my employers!
Response:
I played course in Jamaica (at old club Jamaica, Jamaica). The days are HOT on the golf course…play early or late. There was also ALOT of wind. Watched wind bring ball back towards tee! (keep it low) Have a great time! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Taking a cruise next year with golf stop overs in Mexico and Jamaica. Would appreciate any course info, tips, ect for Jamaica. Tryall is an excellent course, former home of the Johnny Walker World Championships. It’s about an hour from Montego Bay in Hanover. Negril Hills Country Club is one of the newest courses on the island. It is 15 minutes from Negril’s 7 mile beach. We played there in February and were very impressed. Ask for Garfield or English if you need a good caddie
Here are some pics http://solu.net/negril/negrilhills.htm The Breezes at Runaway Bay (might have changed names???) is near Ocho Rios, a common cruise ship port. It is pretty flat and close to the ocean. The other two are more mountainous, but still within view of the ocean. Taking a cruise next year with golf stop overs in Mexico and Jamaica.
