Question:
I’m planning for a golf vacation to Malaysia. But heard someone says clubs in Malaysia required the visitors be a handicap card holder. Is this true ? And I’m planning to go to Sabah, any suggestion ? p.s. pls copy your reply to me via e-mail, thanks
I lived in Malaysia for two years and played a lot of courses. Some courses are not open to the public or visitors, only guests of members, but none of those that allowed visitors required a handicap certificate. I never made it to Sabah… Oscar
Response:
I just came back from a diving vacation in Sabah. I didn’t really look for golf courses, but it seems there aren’t that many. I only saw three. There was one right next to to the beach in Kota Kinabalu, I think it was the Kota Kinabalu Golf & Country club. The course looked rather nice, but since I didn’t play it I can’t really tell. I also saw one course in Sandakan and one on the highway between Tawau and Semporna. I played a short par-3 course at the hotel I stayed in in Kota Kinabalu(Shangri-La) and managed to score a hole-in-one though! Not much useful information I guess, but as I mentioned above, there doesn’t seem to be too many courses to choose from… I’m planning for a golf vacation to Malaysia. But heard someone says clubs in Malaysia required the visitors be a handicap card holder. Is this true ? And I’m planning to go to Sabah, any suggestion ? p.s. pls copy your reply to me via e-mail, thanks
