Steelhead same as the original Bertha?

Question:

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I finally got first a hand look at the new clubs. Though the look is different, the sole design went back to the original – rounded throughout the sole, rather than shaving off the ends to "tip" the bottom center. Because the store didn’t have any originals available (or even warbirds!), I couldn’t confirm if the face is shallower than before. Has anyone bought it yet? I was curious to know if the ball flies higher than the warbirds. I would guess the new shaft will also affect the ball flight. regards, -JP They’re fundamentally different from previous Callaway clubs in that there is more weight on the bottom of the club, plus a "weight chip" on the inside of the sole plate to move the center of gravity toward the back of the head. The shafts are a little firmer at the tip than the old RCH 96 shafts. I picked up a 3-wood last week, and love it.  It’s the easiest-to-hit fairway wood I’ve ever had.  The head feels very, very solid (though it makes a funny "clink" sound).  And the deeper face makes the club infinately more usable off the tee than the shallow-faced Adams and Orlimars of the world. My golf store owner buddy tells me that he believes that the 3 wood will be the most popular seller of the crowd and a lot of folks will dump their driver and go with it or the strong 3 instead. — "Man blames fate for other accidents but feels personally responsible for a hole in one."       –Martha Beckman
