Question:
As I set here waiting for Uiuttiu’s second come back. I’ve got to tell you that I own a ProSelect 17-4 offset driver. I don’t work for ProSelect either but, I have worked for Nevada Bob’s and have sold ProSelect. I could buy and clubs that I sold at cost + 5%. And I bought a ProSelect driver. What does that tell you? That I’m cheap or wise? ( Now, go and spread the word my son) -ss
Response:
I have to been to quite a few golf shops recently and the company Pro Select is becoming a pretty popular company. Iwent to a Nevada Bob’s store and all the Pro Select Black Plasma Drivers had been sold and the guy said he had 15 in stock. I recently purchased a set of woods by Pro Select called the NXT-ONE. Even though they are Stainless Steel, i get good results and distance. The Black Plasma driver is also a decent club and if you are looking for a good driver, this one is affordable and has good distance results. It uses a ceramic insert instead of a titanium insert. The company claims that it is harder. I hit this driver of the tee at a local driving range and i was pleased with the results. I usually hit about 250 off the tee consistently with my Big Bertha warbird ( Steel Shaft ) driver, but with the Black plasma i hit about 260 consistently. I do not work for Pro Select, even though it sounds like it, but i was amazed by how such an unknown company can improveo ne’s game. My warbird was 9.5 degree loft and this other driver was 10.5 by the way. If you have any questions or comments please respond. Another club that i was pleased with the results was the driver by McHenry metals. This is another sleeper to look into. As irons go, I recently looked for a new set and i wanted to try the Wilson fat shafted irons and they felt rather awkward and they caused me to slice a little. The shafts seem so stiff even though i was using a moderate stiffness. I am a 9 handicap and i usually never slice my irons so i decided against these clubs. I really like the cleveland T4 irons. I don’t work the ball a lot so I didn’t try the T3 set because they are intended for golfers who put spin on the ball a lot and play a fade or draw. I personally like to hit a strait shot and use minimal spin unless it is needed. They are a little pricy at $700 for 8 irons but if you really like them, they are worth it. Also i tried a set of original King Cobra irons and those are fantastic clubs. I liked the feel plus the distance. They are reasonably priced at $305 for 8 irons. The putters I like are the Bobby Jones series from Callaway. I own the Bobby Jones # 5 mallet putter at its great, but the newest STX putter if nice also. Well i hope i have enlightened people about some new clubs. Please respond to this news group, i would like to hear some responses! Thanks
