Question:
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – "For a figure off circa $60 PA you can create a link to your own Web Site(s) via the likes of ZDNet whereby you may write your own ‘Editorial’ front to the link – in essence you may say what you will to increase the marketability relative to your products" "You may also include a Star Rating if you so wish" Didn’t you say that when we exposed your claims to be the "Exclusive supplier of software to the World Golf Federation" – they were BOGUS just like your claims above of a review. AND – didn’t you remove that BOGUS endorsement from your Web Site as soon as we exposed it as being a con trick? Now you are just expanding on your own propaganda and using your previous lies as supporting evidence.
My Reply:- The only evidence needed is that when you were exposed it disappeared from your site – WHY? Simple – because you were caught out as a cheap liar….. I need not say more….

I believe that you are mistaking advertizing a product on the ZDNet web site with submitting a product to the ZDNet web site for their review. If you would just take the time to contact ZDNet and ask them if the review of our software is a paid review or an unbiased review performed by ZDNet, they will confirm what I am saying. I would contact them and send you the reply but you would obviously dismiss it as "bogus". I am sure that if you ask Scott Maga, one of the few people with whom you seem to be friends, he will confirm what I am saying. If he had submitted his own review and rating do you not think he would have given his Magadraw software a rating higher than 3 Star when Handicap Manager for Windows was given a 4 star rating? Didn’t you say that when we exposed your claims to be the "Exclusive supplier of software to the World Golf Federation" – they were BOGUS just like your claims above of a review. Now you are just expanding on your own propaganda and using your previous lies as supporting evidence. I have always insisted that the World Golf Federation was a legitimate organization. The only reason I removed the reference to them from my email messages was that they did not resume operation in Ottawa this year. In a posting yesterday I proposed to fax to a neutral 3rd party copies of magazine articles from three independent golf magazines (one based in Ottawa and two based in Florida) which demonstrate that the World Golf Federation was indeed in operation in those areas. If Dan will agree to be the neutral third party, I will fax the information to him for his review ASAP. PS. I bet you don’t half look the part with your little ‘gadget’ – I use the Handicap Manager for Windows Pilot Interface myself on my Palm III and carry the PALM III in a leather belt clip case. ohhhhhhh, I bet you do look swishhhh!
Was the "swishhhh" comment really neccessary? Can you not show a little more class? Cheers and good golf, John D. Hutton Northern Systems Inc. Quality Golf Software Products Since 1987

But, somehow, I suspect you will say more … and more … and more. Please … take your whining and sniveling to e-mail. He has confirmed that our review is legitimate. If you have any questions,
We’ll wait until OUR people tell us different. Please be advised that now that we have proven beyond any reasonable doubt that our review is valid any further comments to the contrary will be considered slander and we will consider taking legal action. Considering the number of times you have called me a con-man over this issue, an openly posted and sincere apology would be in order.
CRAP – What about the World Golf Federation CON? – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Cheers and good golf, John Hutton Northern Systems Inc. Hi John, The claim that your competitors have made about the review of your program is completely unfounded. I can verify that the review and rating were established by us and that there was no money exchanged between Northern Systems and ZDNet. I am including Christine Carvajal on this reply to you for she is now taking on the author relations tasks for the ZDNet Software Library. I encourage you to send any further information about this so called review payoff to Christine so we can make sure this rumor is stopped. Regards, Darrin Crowell

Thanks John, that was just what I was looking for. I take it from the responses that Harry’s program does not support the Palm Pilot? Too bad. Now I guess I’ll have to worry about looking swish, whatever that means.

1. Do any of these stats packages work on the Palm Pilot?
One of the best, from a purely "ease of intigration’ standpoint is intelligolf. It has a desk top and a hand heald piece. It keeps all the normal stats but it really shines if you like to do a lot of betting. It is not the most comprehensive stats package though. but if you just want to calculate the kind of stats they count on tour then this will doo just fine go to www.intelligolf.com. 2. What is the best way to attach a Palm Pilot to a pull cart? Does anyone do this?
There is a caddi device for attaching it to the wheel of your cart, and i’m not sure if you can fit it to a pull cart. It is sold at www.intelligolf.com. as well. I use a hard plastic holster called a jetpac. It clips on your belt and you can get at the handheld device with one hand. You can find this and a http://www2.viaweb.com/pilotgear/beltclipmodels.html — The DeMented Golfer Golf spelled backwards is flog Rick DeMent "Time to pull a quick Hank Snow." We are all getting a little tired of your unsubstantiated statements. I think it is about time you showed us your proof that ZDNet reviews and ratings can be bought. Immediately show us the relevant segment from whatever report you commissioned and within the next several days show us confirmation from ZDNet that they are willing to sell you a review and a rating.
Word For Word: Ref’ ZDNET:- "For a figure off circa $60 PA you can create a link to your own Web Site(s) via the likes of ZDNet whereby you may write your own ‘Editorial’ front to the link – in essence you may say what you will to increase the marketability relative to your products" "You may also include a Star Rating if you so wish" If you can’t put up then shut up! What a nerve?? (i’m hurt at your nasty tone) – We have a great little piece on you in the Mrket Research that we have just had done (and yes we did supply your name and a few others who we asked them to check out!) and the above is the passage on ZDNet relative to YOU. We have now asked them to contact ZDNet again to ask for exact details (on their headers) as to what they offer potential clients – including the option for ‘the client’ (read you, us, who-ever) to write their own so called "Reviews" I will be delighted to publish that in what ever form is necessary to prove the point – patience….. In the meantime, the authenticity of their report to us is beyond reproach – after all, if they are good enough to work for Callaway, etc, they are good enough for us. As for your comment: We are all getting a little tired of your unsubstantiated statements.

AND – didn’t you remove that BOGUS endorsement from your Web Site as soon as we exposed it as being a con trick? PLUS, of course – Your chum at STATMASTER has now also removed his claim to be endorsed by the "Independant PGA" from his web site (another BOGUS organisation) - God, is there NO HONESTY on the Net. It’s people like you and your ‘Chum in crime’ who will destroy a market with you fraudulant claims. What con will you try next? Harry. PS. I bet you don’t half look the part with your little ‘gadget’ – I use the Handicap Manager for Windows Pilot Interface myself on my Palm III and carry the PALM III in a leather belt clip case.

A Palm Pilot interface is available for our Handicap Manager for Windows software. The Pilot interface can be downloaded from our web site at http://www.northernsystems.com/palm.htm Note that you must already have the desktop version of Handicap Manager for WIndows installed to make us of the Palm Pilot interface. I use the Handicap Manager for Windows Pilot Interface myself on my Palm III and carry the PALM III in a leather belt clip case. When wearing the Pilot clipped to my belt near my back pocket I find removing the Pilot for score entry as easy as pulling a scorecard from my back pocket. I would not want to have the Pilot fastened to my pull cart as that would be much less convenient for entering scores. It would also subject the Pilot to significant shocks since pull carts do not contain shock absorbers. We suggest that you visit our home page at http://www.northernsystems.com and download a 15 day evaluation copy of one of our Handicap Manager for Windows, Personal Editions. The Palm Pilot Interface will work with any edition of Handicap Manager for Windows. According to an independent rating from the Zdnet (a subsidiary of Ziff-Davis Inc, the publishers of numerous magazines including PC Magazine) our Handicap Manager for Windows is a 4 Star Editor’s Choice. You can read their glowing review of our software for yourself by following the appropriate link on our home page. We have Personal, League, and Professional (club) editions which comply with the USGA (United States), RCGA (Canada), AGU (Australia), NZGA (New Zealand), NGF (Netherlands), SAGF (South Africa) and CONGU (UK) Handicap Systems. The Personal Editions of Handicap Manager have been designed for use by golfers who seek to monitor their handicap issued by a golf club. Handicap Manager for Windows stores up to the most recent 1000 rounds of golf per golfer, and stores up to 255 course definitions. It also tracks many relevant statistics such as greens in regulation, fairway stats, driving accuracy, putting stats, etc if you choose to enter golf scores in detail. In addition to being available from retail golf stores, Handicap Manager for Windows, Personal Editions, can be purchased for approximately $US 34.95 by mail using a cheque, money order, VISA or MasterCard. If you are ordering using your VISA or MasterCard, you can do so by phone, fax, or via our secure order form by clicking on the "Order Now" button on our web site at <http://www.northernsystems.com. We do not recommend sending credit card information via email. Our order form resides on a secure server and all information entered to the form is encrypted during transmission whereas information transmitted via email is not encrypted and not secure. We also have League and Professional (club) Editions which comply with each of the aforementioned handicap systems. The Canadian Professional Edition of Handicap Manager for Windows has been certified by the RCGA for use by golf courses in Canada which comply with the RCGA Handicap System. Although no equivalent certification program exists in the United States, we do have permission from the USGA to use their handicap system in our software and our U.S. Professional Edition fully complies with the USGA Handicap System. We hope this information is helpful. Sincerely, John D. Hutton Northern Systems Inc. Quality Golf Software Products Since 1987
