Need Advice: X-14 vs Hawkeye Ti irons

Question:

Goes to show you….no equipment will help a seriously flawed swing. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -I’ve heard good things about the X-14s but never seen them hit, but I’ve seen the Hawkeyes.  They’re damn expensive, overpriced (but then again, all Callaway products are…), and with too big of a head but where I’m from, weathly Asians with seriously flawed swings use them, but when they hit the ball, they it the thing really really really high in the air.  To me, I like a low penetrating ball flight. I’m a high-teen handicapper who is slowly improving his game.  I replaced my woods last year with a 1,3,5,7 steelhead-plus and I am looking to replace my Hogan Radial irons this year. I plan on play a few rounds with both the X-14’s and the Hawkeye Ti irons.  My local golf shop told me the Hawkeyes are more forgiving but the X-14’s are more of a "players" club. I am interested in what people think of these two sets of irons, especially is how they compare to each other.  Which are the easier set to hit consistently? Thanks, Bodo

I’m not sure if this’ll be very helpful, but I recall hitting the old X-12s side-by-side with the old Great Big Bertha titanium irons, and there wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference between ‘em. I’ve hit the Hawkeye irons in a cage, and they’re too light for me.  They are forgiving.  But so are the X-14s.
