just when i was going to quit golf

Question:

Zig… We have a 9 year old at our course who is the same league as the 10 year old you mentioned.  It is great fun playing with him.  Fairways and greens all day long with adult size Titleist DCI 962 irons and a TM bubble driver. Very impressive.  He will be playing in our State junior open in a couple of weeks and I hope he does well. Last year he took 3rd place. RJ … – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – My boss shot a 82 for 9 holes last week, worst score of his life. He is still playing this week , back to his usual high 40’s game. Seen a picture in the newspaper of a local 10 year old kid that can shoot 80 for 18 holes, on a regular course.  He can’t hit the ball more than 150 yards, but has a very good short game. Illegal Callaway ERC driver ? Hah ! Who needs it !!!! Ya ain’t got a thing if ya ain’t got a swing. cheers after playing some good golf last week, i played like crap all or not things have fallen apart again.  i hate this game ;) charlie Before you buy.

Know what you mean.. My "A" game left me yesterday and I shot a 78. Back to the drawing board head down, weight on the inside right foot, easy take away blah blah blah TENSION!!! Miss the ball LOL – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – after playing some good golf last week, i played like crap all weekend.  i went to the range yesterday and couldn’t hit anything.  my new upright swing has fallen completely apart.  hook one, slice one, hit one fat, hit one thin.  no consistency at all.  i got extremely aggravated on the range.  i quit hitting balls and went to the putting green.  even though i had been putting well last week, i couldn’t putt yesterday. push one, pull one, hit one short.  no consistency in putting either.  i said screw this.  i’m going to go play nine holes.  if i don’t shoot better than bogie golf, i’m quitting this stupid game. first hole, weak low 240 yard drive, but it was down the middle.  weak high right pw for my 2nd shot that came up just short of the green.  bad putt from the fringe.  sink the 6 footer for par. 2nd hole.  even though i had parred #1, i was still aggravated that i really didn’t hit but one good shot on the hole (the 6 foot putt).  the day before i had golfed with a couple of the pros.  one of them that hits the ball a ton sort of reaches for the ball a little.  i decided to try that.  i have tried this before and usually hit weak fades or shanks.  hit a 250 yard draw but into the rough.  now i had 195 left uphill to the green and i had to draw it.  hit a great 4 iron off the back of the green.  a bad chip and a 2 putt gave me a bogie.  at this point, i also decided to change my putting grip somewhat.  i made a few practice putts and went to the next hole. now i’ve got a new swing and a new putting stroke for the next 7 holes.  par the next 2 holes, double the par 5 after 2 shots in the woods, par the next hole, bogie the par 5 after my 2nd shot went into the woods and par the last.  6 pars, 2 bogies, and one double gives me a 40.  dammit!  i have to continue golfing. par the first 3 holes of the back nine.  things are going well with my new swing and new putting stroke.  hit a great drive on #13, but then hooked a 9 iron from 150 that hits the side of the bunker and kicks into the edge of the woods.  make double.  par the next. bogie the par 5 after a horrible tee shot.  par #16.  nearly shank my drive on #17 and after a drop from the woods and then a 3 putt, i make a double.  duck hook my drive on #18 and make bogie. so with my new swing and new putting grip i shot an 82.  the bad thing is that i had some bad mis-hits on #16, #17, and #18.  i finished the round making bad swings.  now i’ve got to go back today to see whether or not things have fallen apart again.  i hate this game ;) charlie Before you buy.
