Question:
There isn’t a golfer in the world that couldn’t improve by playing with a properly fit set of 50 year old forged blades. (Flame retardant long johns fully implemented.) Improve their Bone Surgeons bank account maybe….(neuroticlly flicking bic lighter) Please tell us how often you play with clubs that DO NOT have rubber grips…? I guarantee they didn’t have em 50 years ago.
I didn’t say you couldn’t re-grip the clubs. Geez! Take putters for an example. Everyone wants the new Titleist Scotty Cameron Teryllium Copper BECu Hand Milled Limited Edition chunk-o-steel-on-a-stick putter for $300. How many majors have been won with this putter? The Bullseye putter was used to win 9 US Opens alone since 1955! How many people are looking for Bullseye putters? You can buy models identical to the one used to win the ‘55 Open and the ‘96 Open for less then $40. These are proven putters. Typically $3 or less at the goodwill store…
Bring ‘em on, pal! I’ll buy all the Bullseyes you can get me for $10 each. Titleist still sells them new. I think they run about $55. How did the lemming mentality infiltrate the game of golf? Inbreeding of the Rich eliteist classes…ie: Dan Quayle.
