Adams GT fairway woods?

Question:

I should have also added that the though the head was easily scratched it was superficial and not on the face only the top of the club the part that was painted. I am guessing they just made the paint a little to thin.  I have to agree with you that if Watson is still playing them the Redline fairway woods must not be much of an improvement. In fact after playing my GT 3-wood and seeing how well it hit I was surprised Adams was bringing out a completely new design so soon. Good luck with whatever you settle on buying. Larry – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I have an Adams GT 3-wood (15 degrees) I can hit it at least 20 yards farther than my old Callaway Steelhead 4-wood.  Off the tee it is excellent and fairly easy to hit straight as it seems to have a draw bias. It does not hit as well as my Callaway out of the rough and the head is easily marred I actually put grooves in the top of the head by under cutting the ball. Something I never experienced before with any wood. However given the distance (230-250 yards off the tee) and accuracy I normally get with the club I’m not ready to look for another one soon. Larry I’m thinking of replacing my Callaway Warbird 4 wood, because I’ve just never been comfortable with it.  I’ve read some favorable reviews on the Adams GT woods and liked the way they hit, felt and looked in the store. Do any of you use these, and if so what are your opinions?  I can pick up one of these baby’s for about $60 and I’m looking at a 17* 4 wood with a stiff flex steel shaft. Thanks for the recommendation Larry.  I also noticed last night on "What’s in the bag" on the golf channel that Tom Watson uses the GT 3&5 wood over the newer Redline fairway woods, even though he uses the Redline driver. That would seem to be a pretty good endorsement of the GT woods.
